Exercise, exercise, exercise! (7 July 2008)

The 2nd exercise session proved to be fun (once again). The students and several teachers, led by the school counsellor Mdm. Ng Gaik Lam (aka Miss Aerobics MGSS), stretched, huffed and puffed to the strains of good music at the assembly grounds. Even the very pregnant Physical Education teacher, Mdm. Mong Chiu Yen who is due this month, did part of the workout. In front of her is Mdm. Yeo Kim Choo (aka Linda Yeo) - our cookery consultant (for dummies like me).

Get Healthy! (2 July 2008)

2 July 2008 saw the beginning of a series of morning exercise sessions held in conjunction with Bulan Kecergasan KPM (Ministry of Education's Fitness Month). When I was asked to conduct the first of the exercise sessions, I couldn't help but laugh because I am one of the unfittest teachers in the school! Even climbing up a flight of stairs would leave me huffing and panting, what more conducting a fitness exercise class! But, hey, I survived, with a little help from my daughter and her friend.

Topmost pic: Iman (extreme left) and Victoria (centre) leading the stretching session. Phew... thank God I had them to see me through. That's me on the right, looking slim for once. It's the outfit playing tricks on the eyes...

2nd pic: Form 5K1 girls in action.

3rd pic: A cross-section of the girls who were selected to join the exercise session.

4th pic: Form 5K1 girls doing the Macarena. It was absolutely fun doing it!

MGSS Open Day 28 June 2008

Parents had to go to school to collect the report cards of their daughters on MGSS Open Day. Students were anxious to get their mid-term exam results but much worse was the fact that their form teachers would meet their parents - and goodness knows what horror tales the teachers would tell the lattter about their children!

Top picture shows Mdm. Sutinah Sidan who is the Head of the Language Department doing brisk business, surrounded by eager girls and their parents. Photo was taken in Form 5K4.

In 2nd pic is Mr. Lee Chee Heng with Nur Amiera of Form 5K3 and her mum.Nur Amiera is one of the nicest girls in the class. Knowing that one of my passions is gastronimcal delights, she bakes me cakes (she's not the only one in the class who does so) and even supplies me recipes which alas, I have scant time to try.

3rd pic shows the fiesta-like atmosphere in the school compound. Mr. Wee Pang Woon (left) and Mr. Lim Kim Swee (right) are seen welcoming the Parent-Teacher Association chairman, Mr. Chua Hong Pioh (centre).
