Back again... School PTA AGM 26 July 2008

Hi I am back again after quite a long while. The 26 July 2008 (Sat) saw MGSS holding her 34th Parent-Teacher Association Annual General Meeting. It was a good meeting with food galore. What was most encouraging was to see proud parents going up on stage to receive cash prizes on behalf of their daughters who couldn't be present on that day.

1. Asilah Mohd. Shariffuddin - one of the top PMR (Form 3) students for 2007 - receiving her prize from the PTA Vice Chairman Mr. Md. Taha Sarip. Asilah is the editor of this year's school magazine (The Gleam 2006-2007) and has proven to be a gem of an editor. I am glad I nominated her as editor and that she accepted the challenge to head the editorial team.

2. My colleague Mdm. Tee Geok Chwee (right) receiving a prize from Mr. Chua Hong Pioh (PTA Chairman) on behalf of her daughter See Tian Feng. Tian Feng scored 12 distinctions in the SPM (Form 5) exam last year to emerge best student in the school SPM results. Congratulations to her and her parents.

3. Lai May Ling (centre) receiving her Student of the Year for 2007 award. To share her moment of glory was her beaming mother, Mdm. Kua Koon Lay. May Ling was the school head prefect for 2007 and she has a list of achievements which would take a few pages to chronicle!

4. The PTA Committee of 2007-2008. Note the batik outift that several of us were wearing. Sponsored by Mr. Md. Taha, the batik outifit is our unofficial PTA "uniform".
